Motor City Driving Academy is one of the most experienced driving schools in the Detroit, MI area. Teenagers are in good hands with our school – we take pride in the quality drivers educated by our school. We want to keep Detroit, MI streets safe as well as teen and adult drivers alike! Whether you are the parent of a teenager or a teenager yourself, you can feel confident in our driving school, which is fully licensed as required by state law. Our instructors provide instruction to hundreds of students each year. We value creating an informative, safe, courteous, patient, clean, and communicative environment that fosters the maximum amount of learning each session. Our goal is to help new teenage drivers become safe, confident drivers. Teen drivers who graduate from our school are equipped with the knowledge and experience required to be collision-free and ticket-free in their driving.

Segment 1

Congratulations! Your daughter or son is 14 years, 8 months old and is eligible to begin driver education. As a parent or legal guardian, your first step begins by granting permission to your teen to enroll a Segment-I driver education course certified by the Michigan Department of State. Motor City Driving Academy, Inc. is Certified and Licensed by the Michigan Department of State and we are proving driver education and conduction Road Test for Teens and Adults since 1998.

  • 24 hour classroom (3 weeks, 4 days, a week and 2 hours a day)

Segment 1 Virtual Class Information

Description

This class is Virtual and will be held via Zoom. The class is two hours long. Behind the wheel training is included and will be scheduled after the students have had 4 hours of classroom instruction. Classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm to 6pm, unless otherwise noted. The last two days will be test days and will be held at one of our locations. We cannot administer online tests per State rules. Generally it will be held at our Detroit location. Please note if the classes are held during the winter months the behind the wheel drives will not be held in inclement weather i.e snow over 1 foot or sleet and hail. Please understand if we have to cancel this is for your students safety as well as ours. However any canceled drives will be rescheduled. Thanks

IMPORTANT NOTE

Your student should have a designated place in your home free from noise and distractions. Under any circumstance your student cannot be in a vehicle during class time. The state has very strict rules as far as class participation and attendance are concerned, so they cannot miss any days. Also if your student is engaged in any activity during class time not related to the course, they will be given ONE verbal warning, After the second occurrence they will be terminated and you will have to pay the full fee for your student to attend again. Classes are recorded per Michigan Drivers Education Rules.

  • Certified copy of Birth Certificate
  • A Michigan State Identification card or moped license will be accepted.
