Segment 2
Segment 2 driver education is offered after the driver has held a valid Level 1 License for at least three continuous months and has acquired 30 hours of driving experience time including a minimum of two hours of night driving. Segment 2 includes a minimum of six hours of classroom instruction. Students must have a level one license (3 months) before taking segment 2. Segment 2 Virtual Class Information
Description
This class is Virtual and will be held via Zoom. The class is only 3 days long and 2 hours per day. The class days vary depending upon instructor availability. However classes are generally held on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 4pm to 6pm. The last day is test day and will be held at one of our locations generally at the Detroit location. We cannot administer online tests per State Rules.
Requirements to Enroll in Class:
- Students must have held a valid Level 1 license for a minimum of 3 consecutive months.
- Students must have completed a minimum of 40 hours of driving time and 3 hours have to be night driving, with a parent, legal guardian, or, with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, driver who is 21 years of age or older.
- A student must possess a Level 1 license to drive a motor vehicle.
NOTES
Classroom Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 hours of instruction.
- A maximum of 2 hours of instruction per day.

Requirement To Register For Classes
- 14 years, 8 months of age
- Permission of parent/legal guardian
- Certified copy of Birth Certificate
- A Michigan State Identification card or moped license will be accepted.
